We are excited to offer a Reading Rangers class this fall for Pre-K students.   Reading Rangers was created 6 years ago by Amanda Wilson and Kristen Dicristina, both Orton-Gillingham trained former elementary school teachers.  In the class, we will utilize phonics instruction, emphasizing visual, auditory and kinesthetic (tactile) learning styles as a way to lay a solid foundation for early readers.  Our time together will be spent playing games and other activities centered on letter recognition and letter sounds, rhyming words, and an introduction to basic CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) word families. (bat, cat, sat, etc.) We will practice segmenting beginning, middle, and ending sounds in order to blend the sounds to read CVC words.
